Hi, we’re Shyaam and Lauren, Co-Founders of Young Black Psych. A social enterprise company specialising in spreading awareness and providing useful, easy-to-use resources for children and young people’s mental health within the BME community.

Shyaam Bundy
Co-Founder & CEO
Shyaam is a writer, podcaster and Psychology graduate from Nottingham Trent University; now working as a Mental Health & Therapeutic Play worker in CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services).
In this role, he offers low-intensity psycho-therapeutic work with children and adolescents who are experiencing both common and more complex mental health difficulties. Prior to this, he has trained as a Therapeutic Play Worker at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education in London. He also has experience working in a play-based therapeutic manner with early years and secondary aged children.
Lauren Fernandes
Co-Founder & Creative Director
Lauren is a First Class BA (Hons) Graphic Design graduate from the University of Hertfordshire.

She enjoys using her artistic and creative skills such as design, photography and illustration to create innovative and unique content.
​
Besides running and designing for Young Black Psych, Lauren is also a freelance Graphic Designer, specialising in logo & brand identity, product design and video editing.
